A Note From Katie
To the girl who stumbled across this page-
I am so excited you are here. I hope you are inspired by what you see in these pages. I want you to feel equipped. I want you to be encouraged. I want you to grow in your gifts and abilities.
But I don’t want you walking away thinking you can change the world.
It’s easy to forget that you and I are not the point…though we desperately want to be. We want to be recognized, appreciated, affirmed and celebrated.
If you wrestle with those desires as well, I hope you’ll join me on a journey – a journey to not be too easily pleased.
C.S. Lewis’ words echo in my mind – “It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”
Let’s refuse to settle for anything less than the One who has promised to give life to the full.
Let us remember that we don’t change the world. He does…and remarkably He chooses to change the world through us.
Whether you are 13 or 113, God can use you to make an impact on your generation. He can use you to introduce your friends to Him. He can use your story with all the victories, failures, heartaches, and doubts.
Feeling inadequate? Don’t worry. He doesn’t need a perfect girl. He needs a willing girl.
He needs a girl after his own heart.
