Stage games were one of the reasons I thought I would never do student ministry. I am super uncomfortable (not to mention awkward on stage) so I’d rather skip them altogether.
I’d like to dismiss games as trivial or a waste of time, but I’ve found that they’re not.
I have seen the power of games as sleepy and disinterested students engage because of a goofy stage activity that only took a few minutes. It was a game changer (see what I did there??) and captured their attention so they were more engaged in the lesson we were covering.
With that said, I have spent a lot of time researching and finding games to fit various programming needs. Some I tried were a hit. Others a complete bust. The list below contains my recommendations from experience and from learning what makes a game flip or flop. I hope it saves you valuable time as you engage your girls.
More icebreakers and games coming soon!
